Whitchurch Fencing Club

O'Sullivan Cup - 2020

Well done to Adrian Stoneman (Cardiff), on today's win.

This was the 31st O'Sullivan Cup, and the event opened with a one minute's silence in memory of Wynford Seymour, who had recently passed away, aged 88. He had been very well known in fencing throughout S Wales, and had founded Swansea Fencing Club as long ago as 1957.

Strong performances from many competitors, including regulars Catherine Bowd & Kel Brundle.

Leading by 2 points at the half-way stage was Rupert Nute, Whitchurch, with Adrian Stoneman very close behind. The final round saw Adrian edge ahead, to take the first place, making it his second victory in the O'Sullivan Cup series.

Well done also to Oliver Phillips, Whitchurch, on his first competitive outing, and best wishes too to Jack Cafaro, last year's winner, who had to scratch due to illness.

Thanks again to Simon Corcoran for his armoury services, and last but not least, to Peter Russell for the use of Cardiff Academy of Fencing.

Format : Poule unique.
