O'Sullivan Cup - 2004

Rescheduled from its March date, because of a clash with other épée events, the 15th O'Sullivan Cup again did not disappoint, and was a closely fought contest, sadly without the Lampeter contingent, and also the Locke brothers from Southampton, who make this contest one of their regular appearances.

With a potential of 50 hits per contestant, James Taylor (Cardiff) pulled out an impressive lead, with Mark Blake (Cardiff) close behind at the end of the second round. Nick Lee (7 times winner), despite being plagued with faulty weapons, energetically pulled out the stops, and emerged third. Making progress quietly, but very effectively, too was Andy Pearson, who overtook Mark and Nick into second place.

(James and Andy maintained their positions in the Miller Hallett too, coming 3rd & 5th, respectively.)

Next year - back to our regular March date, hopefully.

Result

  • First : James Taylor (Cardiff)
  • Second : Andy Pearson (Cardiff)
  • Third : Nick Lee (Cardiff)
